Getting To The Four Seasons Hotel in New Orleans:
The Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans is approximately 16 miles (25 minutes) from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). There are a few transportation options to get you from the airport to the hotel; ride-share, taxi, booking transportation through the hotel, rental car, or public transit.
We opted to book a ride-share with Uber. This is the easiest option for us, and our typical means of transportation if we are not renting a car. It allows us to have full control of our pick up and drop off location, and know the price upfront when booking. There were plenty of Ubers in the area, and we never had a problem finding one. To get from the airport to the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans we paid just under $50 using Uber, and the ride was about 25 minutes.
For those who may be more familiar with using a taxi service, the MSY airport states that taxis will pick up passengers in the designated taxi loading zone, and each ride to the French Quarter for up to two passengers is a set rate of $36. They also state that taxi operators must accept credit card payments.
Guests staying at the Four Seasons can also pre-book transportation through the hotel. The cheapest option for transportation from the airport to the hotel via the Four Seasons is $155 for two people with a domestic arrival flight and can reach upwards of $500 for bigger groups or luxury vehicles.
Most people will not need a rental car while visiting New Orleans, and when we were trying to decide to rent a car most places online said it was not worth the hassle. There is limited parking in the city, narrow streets, and the available parking is expensive! With that in mind, a rental car will cost about $125 per day with all the fees added in and protection for the car. Parking is not included in the nightly rate at the Four Seasons, and it is valet only, adding $64 per night. To have a rental car will run you nearly $190 per day!
Public transportation is available in the city, there are two buses with routes from the airport that go towards New Orleans. The Jefferson Transit Authority (JET), and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA). Both Cost about $1.25-$2. To read more about their routes and how to book tickets check out their websites; Jefferson Transit Authority and Regional Transportation Authority.

As you enter the hotel you are greeted by the sparkling opulence of the chandelier bar. It was so eye-catching we almost missed the check-in desk. The front desk is small and located right across from the chandelier bar. The check-in process was quick and simple, and when we arrived there was no line at the counter. The staff at check-in were friendly and kind as they explained the hotel to us, and showed us to the elevators.
Room Details:
We stayed for four nights in a superior city-view room, and paid $1257.17 for our stay, with the discount of a free third night added. The room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the city. There was a large window overlooking the city, a sofa and accent chair for relaxing, a small table with two chairs, an expansive bathroom, and a plush king bed.
The bathroom was the real show stopper in the room, decorated with marble accents, a huge soaking tub, a separate standing shower, and a separate room for the toilet. Everything in the bathroom was sparkling clean, and we enjoyed cooling down in the large soaking tub after exploring the city all day.
Instead of individual toiletries, there were large refillable bottles of soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. All of the bottles were full, and the products inside were good quality. In the bathroom hung two fluffy white bathrobes, and slippers which made the bathroom experience even more relaxing.
The walls in the hallway were shiplapped and according to the hotel's website, this is to pay homage to riverboats on the Mississippi. It was a fun design element and made the room more visually interesting.

The bed was soft and comfortable with plush white bedding and multiple pillows. We slept great during our stay! If you make a Four Seasons profile you can set your preferences for pillow types and mattress firmness so they can try and get you your preferred bedding for your stay. This is a luxurious and unique option that Four Seasons offers!

In the room a small espresso bar with a Nespresso machine, a few different pod flavors, two small espresso cups, and cream and sugar packs. In the same area, a small fridge stocked with various goodies from sparkling water to wine. All of the drinks in the fridge were for purchase.
Next to the bed on the nightstand was a touch screen device where you could contact the front desk, and make any requests or reservations you may need throughout your stay. We ordered room service and asked for a late checkout through the device without calling the front desk. The staff responded quickly to any message we sent, it was super convenient to make requests or ask questions.
Room Service:
We ordered room service on the first night we arrived. The food unfortunately for us did not live up to the typical Four Seasons standard. We ordered the orecchiette pasta, the club sandwich, beignets, and a chocolate mousse. The pasta was alright but not our favorite, and the produce on the sandwich and fruit on the mousse were subpar. The beignets came served in a paper bag which seemed odd to us, but they did taste good. We paid a little over $100 (with a tip and service fee), and decided based on the food that we got that we would be eating out the rest of the trip!

Property Perks:
The property boasts a large “rooftop” pool on the fourth floor which overlooks the Mississippi River. Around the pool are plenty of chairs to relax and catch some sun. The view from the pool deck is amazing!
The hotel also has a spa on-site, offering massages, facials, body treatments, couples packages, pool cabana rentals, and spa bundles.
There is a 24-hour gym on site and it is great quality for being in a hotel. The equipment was clean and in good shape and there was a good amount of weights and machines in there to use. Also in the gym were towels and water for guests to enjoy.
Turn-down service is offered in the evenings for guests who opt for it, and their rooms can be prepared for bed and refreshed. We opted to turn down one of the nights we stayed and it was a nice experience. The comforter of the bed is folded back and more water and coffee pods were brought in. It was nice to come back to a fully stocked room after drinking everything earlier in the day.
On the 34th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans, there is an observation deck called Vue Orleans which offers panoramic views of the city and the Mississippi River. Guests can get a discounted ticket but must still pay to get up there despite staying at the hotel. The attraction was still pretty new when we went, and we did not have time to check it out. Let us know if any of you have and if you thought it was worth your wallet!!

In the lobby of the hotel is a gorgeous chandelier bar that often has live music and a large crowd gathered to enjoy the ambiance and drinks. In addition to the chandelier bar, there are two other restaurants in the hotel; Miss River, and Chemin À la Mer. We did not try the restaurants since we had a subpar room service experience on our first night and did not know if the food came from one of them.

Check-out:
The check-out time for the Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans is 12:00 PM. Our checkout process was quick and simple. We left our keys in our room as we were leaving and received a finalized bill via email a few hours after we left. On our way out we were able to grab a coffee for the ride to the airport from the drink station and it was a nice way to wake up early in the morning. The drink station was a huge hit with us during our entire stay especially when we could grab complimentary waters on our way out into the humidity!
Summary:
The Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans transports you to a luxurious city getaway the second you step through the doors. A lavish chandelier bar is one of the first things you see as you walk in, and sets the tone for your stay. We paid $1257.17 for four nights at the Four Seasons and enjoyed a superior city-view room. Our room had a large soaking tub that paired perfectly with the provided robes and slippers for relaxation after a long day on our feet. The hotel is in a great location on the river and offers amazing views and easy access to the French Quarter via the riverwalk.
One thing we wished had been better was the room service, our experience did not live up to other Four Seasons hotels as the quality of the produce was sub-par. One of our favorite aspects of the hotel was the drink station in the lobby, it was so guest-centric and we used it every day of our stay. It had coffee in the morning and ice-cold waters in the afternoon and evening. It helped us stay cool and hydrated on the hot summer days! If you decide to stay at the Four Seasons New Orleans make sure to check online for promotions and discounts, we were able to enjoy a free night when we booked!
